Originally a classical trained violinist, Martin Permer started writing his own music when he was given a sythesizer on his 15th birthday. Then he needed a special female vocalist that would suit his romantic and very original compositions.

One day when visiting his friend, he met up with a beautiful blonde girl on the stairs. He asked her if she wanted to sing and she said yes, hence the pop duo "Waltz for Debbie " was in creation. The band name comes from a masterpiece recording by the legendary Swedish jazz diva Monice Zetterlund, together with the Bill Evans trio in 1964. Annica's style of singing definitely inherits the delicate and soulful touch of monica.
