HEY! For years now, The Mattoid has been perfecting his signature style of "Sango" music all over the world. In 2001, this wandering troubadour found his way to Music City, USA, hoping to uncover the secret picking style of "Tink" L.E. Vinkli. The Mattoid's brand of anti-folk broke into the local club scene where he developed the controversial Poppy Fields Band with middle eastern chanteuse and delay pedal diva, Poppy Fields. Along with the intimidating trap kit maestro, Sunflower, this group proved to amuse, frighten, and inspire a local scene shadowed by the ever present sense of industry mediocrity. In 2003, The Mattoid has gone solo, promoting his first, fully studio-produced album, "HELLO." While "HELLO" marks a new era in The Mattoid's exploits, it is a close relative to his previous, Urban Peasant home recordings. In a time when major labels are pointing fingers and passing the buck off to the consumer, The Mattoid works even harder to hone his infectious Sango rhythms for the hungry listeners of the world. Originally hailing from Helsinki, The Mattoid fuses ancient, Finnish, throat singing with grooving rock and roll. The result is something truly unique and simply must be witnessed first hand in order to appreciate this strange mix of sound and performance art. Join The Mattoid as he climbs up the mountain, sails the ocean, and reaches all those shining stars. Oh, yeah. Track List: 1. Funeral Party (LIVE) 2. Shiny Woman 3. Slacker's Pain 4. Juri Gagarin 5.
