"What more could you ask for from a compilation album? Featuring some of LA's top modern rock artists, including Brian Bell's (Weezer) band Spacetwins, Remy Zero's astounding home recordings, Silver's ethereal and grinding early sessions and much, much more, this is one special event you don't want to miss out on. Flowing easily from track to track, breaking trends of most comps that bounce you from genre to genre, this little baby will leave nothing to be desired for you insatiable modern rock fans. Eat your heart out." - cdbaby.com

The idea for the 'California' compilation was born over a few beers at Silverlake, California's, 'The Lodge.' Cinjun Tate (Remy Zero), Dustin (Devics), Brian Bell (Weezer/Spacetwins), Aaron Embry (Willie Nelson, Jane's Addiction, Elliot Smith, Scott Weiland - keyboardist, guitarist), Brandon McCulloch and Dionne McCulloch (Silver) and James Dion (Substance Records) decided to create a compilation featuring the artistic, beautiful and strange nature of the 'real' LA music scene.

The recordings were provided by the individual artists, and compiled and mastered at Capitol Records by Mark Chalecki. The record flows effortlessly unlike many compilations. It's met rave reviews from fans of the various bands and been called "a cult classic" by LAweekly.
