"Full of fun, funky, acoustic tunes" answers singer song-writer Shawn Brown when asked to describe his latest release Unremarkable. Brown, who is often compared to the likes of Jack Johnson and John Mayer, hopes that this release will help to add to his quickly growing fan base. The new disk features the backing support of the Boise-based Rebecca Scott Decision, and was produced by RSD guitarist Ben Burdick. Shawn Brown first came into focus as the front man for Northern California favorite 'Lindy's Kitchen'. His first solo effort was the well received Bootney Lee EP, which featured a stripped down acoustic approach and was produced by Brown's close friend Garrett Harper. The result was a quiet, angry collection of smoky love songs that showcased Brown's voice as something special. Unremarkable takes that sound a step further, combining Brown's signature sound with one of the most versatile and creative bands in the Rebecca Scott Decision. "Working with those guys really took those songs into places I had never considered. When I hear the disk, it just reminds me of how much fun we had in Ben's studio." Before recording began, Brown also worked on his material with Doug Reid at AugustWolf Studios, in Moraga California. Highlights from Unremarkable include "Angel in the Sand" (angelic harmony vocals supplied by Rebecca Scott), "Besotted", and the aptly titled "Strange Rain.
