Brooklyn-based and a Long Island native, Sharon grew up as a New York suburban kid in love with ballet and books. Today, she creates songs that are smart and sophisticated but just as simple and straightforward -- think Aimee Mann and Dar Williams meet Shawn Colvin and Lucy Kaplansky. Whether you call it "polk" or "folp," Sharon's folk-pop melodies and lyrics will have you humming along in no time.

Her first full-length CD, "Semi Broken Heart," was released under her previous name, Sharon Edry, on Elizabeth Records (www.elizabethrecords.com) in 2004. Her new self-produced acoustic CD, "Shake the Stars" features guest appearances by talented friends such as Pat Wictor on lap steel guitar; Carolann Solebello and Abbie Gardner of Red Molly on bass and dobro, respectively; Andrew Frawley on percussion; Larry Siegel on mandolin; Allison Tartalia on piano; and Martha Colby on cello.

"Beautiful work. Her singing is flawless...her songs are smart and sensitive." -- Sloan Wainwright

"There's a plethora of young women doing the acoustic singer-songwriter thing at the moment. Sharon separates from the crowd because of the lovely qualities of her voice ... purity, simplicity, directness, 100% presence. No big histrionics, vocal gymnastics, or the sound of a throat damaged by a jagged bourbon bottle. She knows that well-written songs can survive intact without the help of a triage nurse." -- Eddie O'Strange, Town & Country Radio Show, New Zealand

"Sharon displays an honesty and originality in all of her songs...touching on a spectrum of emotions." --Eric Cohen, music director, WAER radio, Syracuse, New York

"Sharon showcases some vocals that could cut the hair clean off a frog’s back! Precise, clean, and seamless."
--Annette Warner, GoGirlsMusic.com
