Shannon Rose's sound fits into the rock/pop genre, but her versatile vocals and blues-influenced song writing bring an unexpected edge to her sound. Shannon Rose is influenced by artists like Alanis Morissette, Indigo Girls, Ben Folds, Save Ferris, Robbie Williams, No Doubt, Nelly Furtado, and Tori Amos. A Chicago-based singer-songwriter, Shannon comes from a musical family, with parents whose folk covers have entertained friends and family for years. Shannon began her musical career as her years in attendance at Columbia College were drawing to a close. Since then she has learned to play guitar, started writing her own songs, and began playing open mics and local shows throughout Chicago and the suburbs. Shannon recently released her debut album, Timeless Conversation, on her own label, Navillus Records. Timeless Conversation features eight new songs and four older songs (released for her original demo); the recording features melodic acoustic guitar lines, richly intricate vocal harmonies, harmonica, and percussion instruments, all arranged and played by Shannon.
