Hi my name is Sean Thornton. I am a thirty-year-old singer/songwriter, originally from Tennessee, now currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Having no background in music early in life I began learning how to play the guitar at age twenty-two while in the United States Army. This quickly developed into not a hobby but an obsession. After doodling around for a couple of years I finally decided that maybe I should try to write some songs. So in 1998, inspired by life and love and driven by the need to perform, I began to write and perform at local open mics. Soon afterwards I began to perform my material at many of the Bay Area's coffee houses, pubs and bars. After a couple of years and a lot of people asking "Do you have any CD's for sale?" I decided to record some songs, hence my new self-titled CD which I released in February 2002. I guess if you had to categorize my music you could describe it as Contemporary Folk with in your face vocals and lyrics that actually have meaning.
