What do you do when you can't afford therapy? Answer: Talk to random people about life, and spill it into your songs. It's been working for Leslie Mendelson. Her debut solo album is a collection of songs she's written since moving to New York City. Raised on Long Island, and once part of the R & B ensemble, Mother Freedom, Leslie now fuses her R & B background with a bit of country, folk, & soul, to make her own mark on the city's music scene. Singing and covering everything from old boyfriends to flaky girls, random subway conversations to quiet introspection, she continues to write about everyday life, even through her ever wildly fluctuating mood swings. In the two years that she has been in the city, Leslie has performed regularly as a solo act, as well as with her talented band, exhibiting her playful compositions on guitar and piano. Along with her pet monkey, Guisepe, who keeps a reserved seat on top of her piano, Leslie has opened for some of her favorite artists such as, Glen Tilbrook (Squeeze), Suzanne Vega, Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers), Felicia Collins (David Letterman Show), Gregory Isaacs, and Wolfman Washington. Leslie is performing regularly around New York and the tri-state area. Check out her lastest project "Emma Peel". Check out the artist's website: http://lesliemendelson.com Track List: 1.
