A review by one seething, punk/metal magazine writer slams the band by saying "the fluff of Left of Memphis is for the ilk who enjoy the likes of James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac & other such do-gooders." This is the kind of insult Left of Memphis celebrates - they framed the review! Another review describes Left of Memphis as "a long term romance, rather than a quick flame." This suites songwriters, Leslie Merical & Marty Van Loan just fine. Their self-titled album is the first of two releases in the last couple of years and features their trademark eclectic mix of rogue folkroq. While the band's live show was well-recieved & audiences responded enthusiastically to their songs, everyone knows "a little help from your friends" can be welcome, and with Robben Ford & Jonathan McEuen on guitars & Perla Batalla & Julie Christensen (of Leonard Cohen's band) on backing vocals, they had an all-star debut CD. Left of Memphis truly appreciates the folks who listen in & reading emails from fans is one of their joys. Let them know you're listening & then drop them a line. We'll let you know when they're coming through your town! Check out the artist's website: http://www.leftofmemphis.com Track List: 1. Cross Our Fingers 2. In The Mirror 3. A Thousand Years 4.
