Exquisite Harmonies, High Energy

Australian sensation, FRUIT are on their way to becoming one of the hottest new music exports from Down Under. With 3 frontline women - Susie Keynes, Sam Lohs and Mel Watson, 2 wielding electric and acoustic guitars and the other commanding an arsenal of horns. Each of them sings, writes and locks seamlessly to the other. It's a vocal blend reminiscent of the great harmonisers of our time.

Add to this collaboration the snap lock brotherly groove of the rhythm section: Yanya Boston's gutsy, rhythmic passion on drums, Brian Ruiz's groove-laden bass and two more velvet voices.

That is Fruit. Hard to pin down- perhaps best described as acoustic pop, Fruit's eclectic set also touches funk, blues, rock and groove.

Of outrageous appeal however are the strength of the vocals and the dramatic use of harmonies.

Operating independently since 1995, this music and performance powerhouse has grown from an instantly popular local outfit based in Adelaide, Australia, to an internationally renowned and sort after festival attraction.

From the WOMAD circuit to the Edinburgh Fringe - the U.S. and Canadian Festivals to the outback of home - five years of solid international touring has defined the depth and reach of this band.

Be it heart-lifting ballads, gut wrenching blues, scorching torch or rocky liberation, FRUIT delivers something for everyone, if you like music that fires your imagination, that is...
