On August 12, 1999 we learned that the trouble my wife had been having was due to a terminal cancer .... Kathy underwent various treatments and fully engaged this battle for more than a year. On November 1, 2000 she died and went home to the Lord Jesus. Kathy was young, strong and without risk factors. She exercised regularly and had a terrific diet. The whole thing remains a shock and a mystery. The Lord has been our Shepherd walking with us through such overwhelming trouble. These songs are very special to me for many reasons - not the least of which is their disproportionate frequency. The Lord gave special help during our special need. And although these songs spring from a season of great hardship they are uplifting in tone. The grace, help, leadership, and comfort from the presence of Jesus in our lives has always been deeper than our valley, more profound than our losses and more abundant than our trouble. In fact, the only thing greater than our trouble is our Savior's love. At the urging of good friends I make these available, in the hope that others will be encouraged. May you also find Comfort and Hope through the same Faith these songs celebrate. "Who You Are to Me" was recorded live at Dartmouth Hospital. Someone gave the grand piano to the hospital in memory of his wife after her fight with cancer. This instrumental song is related to the poem of the same title printed in the booklet.
