Robby Higginbottom and Kevin Hoover met at Duke University and became friends in doing ministry and leading worship through song. Their hopes of making an album of original songs became reality over the course of a year and a half of writing, recording, and re-recording with a number of their friends at various homes and apartments in Dallas, Texas. Kevin and Robby took the name Empty Handful to communicate the belief that we all come with empty hands to the Lord who fills and satisfies his people with his all-sufficient grace.

Empty Handful's first CD, "Make Yourself at Home," is an honest attempt to paint the depth of our spiritual poverty and the unsearchable riches we have in Christ. It's an album that isn't afraid to wrestle with hard questions and messy lives. It's an album that reveals a heart that wants to find real redemption in the midst of real life. Robby and Kevin continue to enjoy life and music in Dallas, where they are involved in youth ministry and other work in the local church.
