Alan Glasband is a singer/songwriter from Minnesota who grew up immersed in the rich folk/country music of the United States. Alan's mom wanted him to be the next Vladamir Horowitz... for which he apologizes deeply to his mom for not getting NEAR that level of playing. His classical training on piano, clarinet, and voice since childhood adds a depth to his songs and melodies that is not found in most typical rock groups, while his attention to lyric details will draw you into his storytelling. Alan moved to Los Angeles when he was 17, to meet a half of his family he never knew, his father's side. He ended up on his own after a few short weeks and has had some unbelievable experiences, ranging from watching a stabbing at a rave to serving the stars coffee at a now defunct coffee place. He went to college and got a Bachelor's degree in one of the country's finest Music Industry programs. During his time in school Alan had the extreme pleasure of working with top artists from around the world in such fields as African music, music from Trinidad, and so many other types of world music. These influences have enriched his music to a degree that most could only dream of. This CD is an acoustic act of love, with cover artwork by Edgar Degas.
