We are very proud to count singer/songwriter Warren Pash amongst our roster of artists.

The Montreal native - author of the No 1. Hall and Oates 1981 hit, "Private Eyes"- relocated from LA to the rain-drenched territory of Portland to work on his idiosyncratic songs a few years back. The result was the Cravedog Records release, "Parts Unknown," an infectious collection of smartly crafted tunes.

Having kicked around the club scene of LA for a healthy chunk of time -recording demos for an early band, "Sam's Laughing Dice," with roots rock legend Steve Earle and counting the likes of Lucinda Williams and Elaine Summers as contemporaries- Pash hooked up with fellow LA transplant (and Cravedog recording artist) Luther Russell and the Cravedog label shortly after moving to Oregon and quickly got to work on the songs that would become, "Parts Unknown."

"There was no time to get minute or microscopic about the songs; they either fly under their own tail winds or they don't. If, 'Parts Unkown,' taught me anything, it's that it's not so much what you have technically as who you have playing it- that's something you can't fake or manufacture."

Sophisticated without cynicism, full of a playful whimsy that retains his core respect for the power of a well-written pop tune, Warren Pash is a tried and true hitmaker completely on top of his game.

An unpredictable record, of which Pash himself says, "It's almost impossible listening to track four to predict what track five will sound like," "Parts Unknown," showcases this artist's bent for catchy hooks and distinctive stylings.

Eleven songs kicked out in as many days ("At some point, Luther [Russell] said, 'That's it. That's the record,'") "Parts Unknown," works out to be equal parts sly backroad storytelling and quiet moments of wistful sadness.

With his slightly nasal voice and hip-but-never-jaded worldview, Pash gives nods to influences as varied as Dylan (Platinum Blonde), 60's era R n' B (Come Back To Me) and the low-and-slow blues grooves of the Mose Allison cover, "If You Live." Proving that wherever the song comes from, it's where the song is going that matters most, Pash takes us to some interesting new situations on this CD.

Full of hidden treasures and small epiphanies, "Parts Unknown," is has the stamp of a man working without a net and making good on the risks involved.
