Featured on over twenty-five different radio shows across the country for his novel, Rebellion of the Light, nominated for the prestigious, 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Literature for his compilation, That We Might Live, which also claimed honors from Writer's Digest, Frederick de Leon (Archangel) gives in to his fiercest passion on his debut album, "Archangel". A record priming with sensuous, poetic lyrics delivered by a smooth, seductive voice, he displays his thirteen years experience as a songwriter and establishes himself as a vocalist to be reckoned with. A protégé of gospel music from the late 70s and an era of such songs as Michael Jackson's "Human Nature", Lionel Riche's "Endless Love", Peabo Bryson's "Can You Stop the Rain" and Anita Baker's "No One In the World", Archangel creates a sound faintly familiar yet lusciously fresh with dreamy ballads and up-tempo beats that make his music sound like something from the future but yet the not too distant past. After thirteen years of song writing and almost his entire lifetime of singing in various groups and choirs on both sides of the Atlantic, he has both recorded and produced a work of art that commands admiration and awe.
