Jay C was born in Borneo, the biggest tropical island of Indonesia, hence his name! Borneo is located south of "The Survivor's TV show" island. Jay has been into music since he was four years old. At only six he made his first recording using Grandpa's tape recorder. Then Christianity brought him into contact with music from the western world. The missionary who came to his village taught him to play guitar and keyboard. Jay C loved to sing and perform. Even at the tender age of twelve, Jay C choreographed many dances and organised a vocal group at the local church. It was there that he also taught a Sunday school. At this time his songwriting and composing skills were starting to flourish. Now living in the USA, Jay C has written and produced his own first album. "My music not only entertains but motivates" says Jay C. " I only write songs that keep my life moving and feeling good. I have many sad songs but I just keep them for myself." Listening to his album not only makes you want to sing along with the catchy tunes but you feel happy. The energy of the lyrics and the music (the natural rhythms of Borneo are interwoven with techno, pop and dance) reveal a new taste in music. His message to his fans is simple. " It is important for everybody to live their own life and enjoy it. I want you to have your own life too. It depends on how you manage it. My music will help give you new power everyday".
