Determined to make each song better than the last, Brooklyn based band The Walkup, has spent an impressive amount of time sweating their asses off in a small rehearsal space in Williamsburg. Despite the discomforts, their efforts have paid off with a strong collection of upbeat, indie-rock, post-punk songs with nods to Gang of Four, The Cure, The Clash, and early Radiohead. Inspired by the love/hate relationships that dominate life, The Walkup's songs combine catchy dual guitar riffs with melodic vocals and complex bass and drum rhythms to create music you'll be glad to have stuck in your head.

Formed in 2004, The Walkup, has played most of the venues in NYC including Mercury Lounge, Crash Mansion, and Don Hills and has had a song from their 2004 demo played on Q104.3, a major radio station in NYC. In October of 2005 they released their debut EP, "These Walls Have Ears" a collection of five songs ranging from the anthem like "Apathy" to melodic brit-pop influenced "Connection". With the addition of a new guitar player in August of 2005, The Walkup has become an even tighter act with a strong and energetic live show. With their debut EP just hitting the streets and an ever-increasing fan base, The Walkup is ready for 2006... listen up.
