Formed in Western North Carolina, Evoka bandmates J.M. Taylor (vocals), Bryan Ledbetter (drums), Charles Martin (guitar), and Pete Small (bass) have etched out a loyal following with their indelible hooks and a growing reputation for electrifying live performances.

Evoka's latest record, "When the Day Comes" (AudioLab Records), was produced by Evoka and mixed & engineered by Oran Thornton & veteran mixer Mitch Easter (REM, Pavement). The record was recorded in Stockton, MO & Kernersville,NC.

The resulting sessions proved promising for the band, spawning the gritty and atmospheric single "Downer" which has been the catalyst for the band's early accolades including finalist for the AMA New Music Awards, a slot on the Van's Warped Tour, winner of the XM Unsigned band contest, as well as licensing deals with MTV and ESPN.

"When the Day Comes" features an enhanced section with video & photographs documenting the band's history, recording & a massive tornado that struck during the sessions in Missouri, destroying the town.

The band is currently on tour in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic in support of "When the Day Comes" and plans are underway for West Coast shows. There is promise in Evoka's songs that should propel the band to wider audiences and larger stages.

Having honed their skills for the better part of 2002 & 2003 Evoka's tenacity for great music and the live show equivalent are creating a buzz among the music industry and fans alike.
