Shaun Sanders, the brains behind Alien Love God (if there are any), was born in New Zealand in 1960. His parents force fed him a diet of corny musicals and cool jazz. His siblings battered his delicate little ears with Deep Purple and T. Rex. All by himself he discovered Steely Dan. Possessing an unorthodox social conscience, Shaun finds it his duty to write songs about everyday real life. Real life stories about doggies... and ponies... and the red light district of Amsterdam. And snake handling cults of the Mid-West. And "Swallow"? That's a song about a little birdie. Riiiiiight.
