Metermaid is a young, up and coming indie rock band from Chicago, that unlike the current trend of over-dressed over exposed Chicago scenesters, has a desire, and the talent to last longer than summer break. Metermaid combines music from every era, the clever songwriting of The Beatles, the crashing rhythm of The Who, the driving dynamic guitar of U2, and the indie rock sensibility of Weezer that has evolved into the music that defines Metermaid. The band is made up of brothers Zack and Dylan Kloska, who share song writing duties, with younger brother Zack, 18, on lead vocals, and Dylan,20, on lead guitar and back up harmonies that only a brother could do so well. Behind the kit is 18 year old Ben Thompson. Though young, Metermaid has been playing clubs for three years, recently completing a string of shows at famous Chicago joints The Note and The Double Door, drawing like headliners despite all being underage. Metermaid has stepped up from clubs this summer, landing a spot on the Vans Warped Tour in July, after signing to Champaign based Indie label, Autonomous Records. In August, the band embarks on their first national tour, in support of their debut record "Live Together", which is already getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
