Best known for his stellar guitar work with Steely Dan on tour in 2000, Jon Herington here shows us the complete package of singer, songwriter, and, of course, guitarist extraordinaire in this debut album of 13 strong pop-rock (think Beatles, Stones, etc.)

The new CD from Jon Herington is called "Like So". It features Jon the guitarist, of course, but the big surprises here are Jon's singing, the songwriting, and the sound of a band that recalls the good old days of 60's rock yet manages to sound fresh and varied in its support of each of these 13 great new songs.

The songs tackle a wide range of topics, from the endearing, dysfunctional romance of "Rolling With the Punches" to the bittersweet tongue-in-cheek desperation of "Lie to Me"; from the poetic declaration of love of "Like So" to the twisted seduction of incest in "Like Your Sister"; from the arrogance of success in "Fauntleroy" to the gospel-leaning simple and solid gratefulness of "Only You Can Take Me There"; and from the sarcastic tale of experience ("Been There") to the innocence and hope in a father's love ("Beautiful Girl").

Dubbed "the most valuable sideman in the so-called Steely Dan Orchestra 2000" (John Soeder-Cleveland Plain Dealer), Jon is " Steely Dan's New Guitar Guy " -- arguably one of the most coveted slots in the annals of popular music. And also, potentially, one of the most intimidating; few musical roles receive the same amount of examination, discussion, and debate as does this one. But Jon is handling it all with "perfection and grace", turning out work which, to our minds, often evokes the melodic and rhythmic heart of cherished recorded versions while simultaneously displaying his own original and powerful musicality.

What did the critics have to say?

"Quicksilver guitarist Jon Herington picked, scratched and poked his way to standing ovations in the encore on fan favorite 'My Old School'" (Austin Scaggs-Rolling Stone).

"...needle-sharp lead guitar by Jon Herington" (Washington Post)

"Herington ...was nothing short of sensational" (David Sinclair-London Times).

Guitar Player Magazine called Jon a player with "one formidable voice" and "chops of doom".
