Captain Wilberforce…

Formed after an impetuous fit of song-writing one weekend early in 2004, Captain Wilberforce released a home-recorded demo mini-lp to some glowing reviews:

‘Incredibly confident and accomplished, alluring, evocative and hypnotic, it's a tantalising glimpse of what lies ahead’ – The Beat magazine

‘There's something here that's reminiscent of the unsigned Coldplay, something else redolent of the down at heel melodics of George Harrison, something else again that recalls the sweet pop joy of The 45's before Matt Hales jumped ship to become Aqualung…’ - Logo Magazine

‘They have some beautiful, polished Clearlake-esque tunes... Shimmery Beatles-tinged autumn songs and wistful, grown-up lyricism...’ - Brainlove E-zine

The new LP takes the band from a rather fuzzy monochrome into spectacular Technicolor, thanks by and large, to learning how to master home studio equipment and of course, continuing to write great songs.

With some early live shows proving to be as well received as the recordings Captain Wilberforce are becoming one of the most talked about new bands in Yorkshire.
