ABANDON SHIP'S BIO

-Their Roots-
Born into a musical family, Nathen Damian, and Gabriel Lester (three of five brothers) grew up playing instruments and singing harmony with their parents, Steve and Darlene. They often performed as a family at community functions, and, over a 13 year period, they recorded a total of eight CDs. The first four CDs consisted of fun, original songs about family life, and the last four were educational in nature, teaching families to sing in harmony.

-The Band's Beginning-
In the spring of 2001, the three brothers came together in Eugene, OR to form Abandon Ship. They spent months writing, rehearsing, and developing a sound based on strong melodic lines, three part harmonies, insightful lyrics, catchy songs, and dynamic performances. Their first public show was later that year in their hometown of Joshua Tree, CA. Over the next 12 months, they wowed audiences at over fifty live performances with their heartfelt, vibrant music. They then headed into the recording studio, and released their first album (self-titled), with thirteen original songs, on New Moon Records in the winter of 2002.

-Since Than-
Over the Course of the next four years, the band has put out two more full length records: Happy Endings in spring 2004 and The Best Game, just released this month. As the years have gone by, Abandon Ship has continued to inspire people with their powerful live performances, where their music has a way of relaying beauty, love and awareness. If you haven't ever checked them out, you'll be happy if you do. And if you haven't heard their new CD, you're missing out because it is the best one yet.
