Solarcane uses an old school approach to songwriting, blending vocal harmonies with old analog mellotrons, Hammond B3 and Fender Rhodes sounds.

Solarcane takes simple, three/four chord songs and combines funky grooves with thick basslines along side lyric

"Book of Alibis" is a result of two songwriters making a record exactly how they wanted - in their own home studio with all the time and instruments they could possibly ask for.

The songs reflect the sunshine of San Francisco blending pretty melodies with 60's style production, bringing in Fender Rhodes' and Mellotrons to support the songs.

"Book of Alibis" is a record that you can just turn on a Sunday afternoon, sit on your proch with a joint and some good company, and just feel good. That's the way Solarcane recorded it.
