The fun-loving Atlanta trio Freak the Jones kick-starts their fifteen song journey with the hard driving "Behind the Stone", taking the listener on a wild but very enjoyable trip through the psyche of a band letting their talents and passions loose.

Paying homage to their funky roots with songs like "Gypsy King" and "Legion", Freak the Jones offers a bit of a southern ass-kicking with the rockabilly stomper "Deep & Wide" and the Dixie fried "Wandering".

"On my Trail" is a revved up road-rockin' tune while "Soul Trip S.V." has a Deep Purple-meets-Parliament drive to it.

The voice of Ben Hernandez is like Ronnie Van Zandt raised on Motown - an impassioned gritty soulful portrayal of the thoughtful and sometimes slyly humorous lyrics.

Add that to Ira Camp's intricate, no-nonsense power guitar and drummer Sandy Sattler's excellent stickmanship and furious drive embellished by The Derek Trucks Band's Yonrico Scott percussion fills, and you've got a CD full of rich sound and dynamic production.

Engineered and mastered by recording guru Rodney Mills (Pearl Jam, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros.)
