ASHBURNE GLEN is the musical "solo" venture of one Jason I. Hensel, frontman for the Dallas, TX "dark wave" band, the Last Drop. Perhaps best described as a cross between old Cure and pre-Dreamworks Elliott Smith, Ashburne Glen's songs examine the sturrings of soul and heart with a melancholy glean that only a native Texan sporting a whispery British accent can provide.

Since its inception Ashburne Glen has performed a handful of shows at Dallas, TX's live music institution, Poor David's Pub. In fall of 2001, Jason enlisted the help of his friends Lance Pilgrim and Geoff Johnston ('Clip), fellow musicians and curators of Plymouth Rawk Laboratories -- the Lakewood area's premiere home recording facility -- to help in recording his debut album. Along the way, the Ashburne Glen project picked up other musically-inclined hombres to contribute to the recording. Chad Stockslager of Budapest One and the Sons of Sound threw some 'tasty' keys and backing vocals on a few songs; Mark Edington supplied some bass; and Benji Shirai tickled the plastic ivories on one particular occasion.
