Peter is a pianist currently living in South Florida. His musical styles are based on many influences from jazz to classical. Growing up in a musical family; his father an accomplished saxophone player at the age of 16 and an uncle a professional trombone player for a Connecticut Symphony, Peter was exposed to the jazz styles of Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond, and Stan Kenton to name a few. His classical influences however, are all his own, starting with a fascination for Bach fugues and keyboard inventions of Domenico Scarlatti as a teenager lead which lead to a deep appreciation for Beethoven and Franz Liszt in his early 20's. Today Peter describes his music as "New Age with a classical twist". This CD is a collection of original piano solo's composed from the age of 15 (Call of the Aged Pine) to the present (Variations on a Dream). "It's my way of expressing my emotions, and the result is an interesting mix of modern and classical. "Sometimes I like to describe it as short attention-span classical, because it has the drive and dynamics of classical in a much shorter time frame." If you enjoy the piano music of Jim Brickman or George Winston you are sure to like this CD, although some tracks are a bit darker and lamentatious, bringing out the classical elements of the music.
