River of Light represents my childhood because I grew up near a river, and I clearly remember that I was always playing with the water, stones, and sand. The river to me is a source of love, life, and energy, always moving, always flowing, with a deep clarity that goes further with imagination. The fresh, crystalline waters of the river, together with the energy of light, illuminate the lives of everyone who lives on earth. My music is closely related to the energy, clarity, and light from the river - my music is a flow of melodies that glide along like a river of light. A river that was a part of my childhood, now being born again. - Oscar Reynolds River of Light Reviews "River of Light is an all instrumental recording full of evocative Andean rhythms and melodies." - Angel Romero, World Music Central, www.worldmusiccentral.org "Polyphonic rhythms and a lush tapestry of guitar, charango, Andean pipes (antara) and bass...The instrumental album provides gorgeous and sensual melodies...It's lovely work by exceptionally talented players." - Cranky Crow World Music "Reynolds'...approach to traditional tunes and more contemporary themes in the music bring far more light and shade to the sound... There's an effortlessness in 'River of Light' which takes the listener on a timeless journey across imagined, endless plateaux, meeting broad sunset rivers flooded with sparkling light." - The Phat Planet, Music from the Whole Wide World, www.thephatplanet.com "Reynolds plays the pan pipes very well indeed, bringing a wide range of tone, feeling, and musicality from them...mixing rhythms from his native Bolivia with soft jazzy overtones." - Global Village Idiot Brief Reviews, www.globalvillageidiot.net "Airy, flute-based melodies, which represent the spirit of the high Andes, over soft acoustic guitar and charango melding together with Afro-influenced rhythms...result in a light, tranquilizing feel with a touch of sadness and longing in every note." - San Francisco Observer "Oscar Reynolds reaches out for something different...a beautiful album." - World Discoveries "A great CD for listening to during dinner, or just when relaxing." - The Bookwatch, World Music Column more reviews at www.karumanta.com/press.html Public Praise "So beautiful it touches my heart." -Emelene Churchill, Chester, California "Outstanding and original!" -Richard Hull, Yachats, Oregon "Beautiful sound and essence!" -Dayna Thomas, San Francisco, California "So tranquil and relaxing yet invigorating!"
