Meldrum is a new band based in Stockholm, Sweden. This fresh, new heavy, alternative hard rock band is a combination of mind bending in your face guitar riffs, heavy grooves, and haunting aggressive vocals. They have created a unique, cutting edge, heavy dark sound of their own. Vocalist Moa Holmsten delivers the goods, with an equally agressive attack live and in the studio, and then capturing the listener again when she delivers something with melodic content as well. American guitarist Michelle Meldrum was both co-founder and lead guitarist for eight years in "Phantom Blue". Leading "Phantom Blue" from a debut album on Shrapnel Records on to a major deal with Geffen Records, followed by successful world tours. Drummer Fredrik Haake has recorded albums with a New York band "Giles" then on to record two albums and tour worldwide supporting Meshuggah with American group "God Is My Co-Pilot". Combined with the grooves of bassist Frida Stahl, this rhythm section is absolutely pounding! Capturing the attention of those at Sweden Rock Festival this past summer is not all Meldrum has done. They have recently completed their debut album and have toured throughout Scandinavia, and some American shows in Los Angeles they are leaving their mark on all those who have witnessed their brutal assault on stage.
