Formed in the late '80s, the midwestern U.S. hard rock act, ARCH RIVAL went through several incarnations before finding their present lineup, which has yielded three highly successful worldwide CDs and legions of fans around the globe. Based out of Dayton, Ohio, the band features Michael Harris on guitar, (who has several solo instrumental albums out worldwide); the compelling vocals of Steve Snyder, and the tight, powerful rhythm section of drummer Greg Martin and bassist Gary Rigmaiden. The very first time these four musicians played together, they knew they had the magic chemistry they had all sought for so long, and wasted no time recording their first CD at Midtown Studio in Nashville, where the band's ex sound technician was engineering : Simply put, out of the Midtown sessions came a hard rock masterpiece. Entitled "IN THE FACE OF DANGER", the band's debut explored AR's ability to "write compelling songs you can't ignore", according to one rock journalist, and immediately garnered major label attention to the group, greatly increased their fan base, and landed them several deals worldwide. Driven by their newfound success, the band toured in support of "ITFOD", while working up new material for their follow up, "WAKE UP YOUR MIND". The four musicians then traveled to the New York area for these recording sessions, as they discovered new sounds and styles on their critically acclaimed 2nd album. More label deals were signed around the globe, and it became clear that ARCH RIVAL had evolved a sound all their own. A subsequent tour followed, and after Michael and Steve each recorded solo albums, the band returned with another amazing release, "THIRD DEGREE BURNS", which became another instant classic to their fans, and secured their biggest recording contracts to date in Japan and Europe. ARCH RIVAL is currently riding high on the crest of this wave of popularity overseas, while a new album is in the works. The band continues to produce an ongoing array of ideas, as they are consistently inspired by the opportunity to express themselves to the world by the universal language of music.
