With 20 tracks clocking in at just under 74 minutes, The First Compilation is a showcase for New England's best independent bands and artists. Whether it's the brutal, bombastic death metal of Senseless Mutilation, the ambient "bread cooking" tones of Bob Dwyer, the progessive blasts from Boston's Teiousekkai, or the cyber/industrial/metal influences of Wormdr1v3, there's something for everyone on this album. Of the 14 artists that appear on this CD, 6 of them are "featured" artists and have two tracks. Those bands include Ass-9 Records artist Purge d.i , 48 rooms, Senseless Mutilation, Evil Sex Party, Teiousekkai, and Wormdr1v3. Bluntface Records is an independent label created by musicians, for musicians, and has locations in Vermont and in New Hampshire. Label presidents' Otto Kinzel (Wormdr1v3/Evil Sex Party)and Steve Polak are two musicians who are frustrated with the current state of the mainstream music industry and the weak trend of cookie cutter artists that are spawned from it. Vowing to do it on their own, without any compromises to their material or integrity, Bluntface was formed to represent their various musical projects.
