Early influences like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Aerosmith, The Stones, and Metallica helped to mold Gypsycho into the musicians they are today. They have not followed the trends of Emo or Death or Doom; they have stayed true to their roots. The history of GYPSYCHO's members goes back many years, from supporting each other in previous ventures, to playing on the same bill. Ralph Whittemore(bass) and Paul Wabrek(vox,guitar) got together Jim Bauman(drums) in 1997, and, as a three-piece, played over two-hundred gigs and recorded two CDs under the band name Tongue-n-Groove. This first incarnation was very blues oriented; along the lines of ZZ Top, Cream and Stevie Ray Vaughn. This lineup resulted in the CD "Truth." After experimenting with another drummer and guitarist, they were lucky to team up with Chuck Fitzgerald. Chuck, having played drums for Sacred Reich and Triphammer, played as many live gigs as Ralph and Paul, and was a perfect match. He joined TNG just in time to record their second CD "Better Than Never." This CD was much heavier and had a Soundgarden-type feel to it. Then came Russell Pace..coming on board in 2003, his sizzling talent on guitar was the perfect fit for TNG, and changed the chemistry enough that they decided they could no longer go under the TNG name. They decided to re-name the band GYPSYCHO. Their debut self-titled CD was released in September of '05. It was mastered at New Alliance Studios in Boston.
