If you thought that the poets of the grunge era merely muddied their waters that they appear to be deep, if you find the pho-rage of numetal and rap rock leaving you cold, if you loved the best of the darker side of the 80's hard rock like Motley Crue, Guns 'n Roses, and legends like Kiss, Aerosmith, Queen, and Zep, still send a shiver up your spine, if you love Gothic Rock, but wished it rocked a little more like a real band instead of a drum machine, if you like big hooks, slamming powerchords, catchy melodies, sing along anthems, with great lyrics full of sneering rock and roll attitude and great storytelling, then Dame Fortune may be your favorite new band.
In 2002 DAME FORTUNE self released their debut EP THE GREAT COSMIC SCHEME and won the 2002 Rock City News award for Best Alternative Band. They received radio airplay and sold CDs over the net to fans as far off as Germany, Japan and the Netherlands.
In early 2003 DAME FORTUNE underwent a lineup change when singer ROD KAY left to pursue other interests. Guitarists MIKE JAMES and DAVID BLAKE stepped forward to split the vocal duties for the band's largest show to date at L.A.'s The Key Club opening for the Lynch Mob. Mid 2003 DAME FORTUNE started recording their first full length CD at Chillsville Studios with Producer/Engineer KEVIN VALENTINE who has played as a drummer with both Kiss and Cinderella amongst others. When drummer CHRISTIAN MARSHALL was forced to leave the band midway through recording due to personal reasons, KEVIN VALENTINE recorded drums for 5 of the albums 12 tracks, and in the meantime JOHN MERRITT joined the band as the official drummer and completed the remaining four tracks.
On October 8th DAME FORTUNE released BOTH SIDES OF MIDNIGHT, their first full length CD on Radio Records.
DAME FORTUNE live offer a high energy theatrical show. As songwriters they have the musical muscle and lyrical depth to create a new legion of Generation X and Y true believers who can proudly call themselves Rock and Rollers.
