The members of Dark Haven weave symphonic texture and dissonant crunch with influences such as: Dark Tranquility, In Flames and Arch Enemy. There is no doubt why they standout. Hailing from Temecula, CA, over time the band grew out of numerous local experiments. The core members became more interested in darker styles with a more aggressive motivation. Dark Haven’s goal is to become a worldwide force in metal following in the foot steps of there influences. By generating a strong and solid fan base in southern California, they are in the beginning stages of doing just that. The fan base for Dark Haven has been rapidly growing for the past several months and is expanding in all directions from their home-town of Temecula. Dark Haven is constantly booking, self promoting and playing, as well as maintaining strong relationships with all of their fans. Dark Haven hopes to further their exposure with there current self released E.P. “Your Darkest Hour”

Reviews:
BW&BK Issue #94:[9.5/10] Melodic death metal like In Flames and Arch Enemy, only with keyboards, Dark Haven comes out both barrels blazing. Before opening track ‘Nightmare’ has finished, the band has proved themselves worthy of a record deal. Superb song writing, fantastic structure and a great guitar solo. Hard to believe this band is from California as they have the Swedish sound down pat. “Symphonic texture and dissonant crunch” are woven together in unbelievable fashion. Not only does Brandon McLaughlin have a perfectly suited raspy, infuriated voice, he plays the bass as well. Also of note is female guitarist Amy Zion. Endless accolades would not be enough to describe how awesome Dark Haven is, hear for yourself ..-Aaron Small

I think this may be the best damn disc I have ever gotten from an out of the blue promo. Firmly from the Gothenburg school and this there debut, absolutely fucking rages..you can't go wrong with this band, and if you like a good melodic death workout then you will want this disc at any cost… Full Review @ metalcrypt.com

What a sonic freight train this is, hauling the big iron on the road to complete superiority and success. That is really what we have here folks, a death defying supergroup on our hands...Full Review @ maximummetal.com

Dark Haven is decidedly rooted in the Gothenburg school of sound, mixing the best elements of melodeath mainstays like Dark Tranquillity and In Flames with newer entrants into the genre such as Nightrage, The Duskfall and countrymen The Absence. The result is an entertaining (if not entirely original) EP that’s bound to catch the attention of one or more of the dominant metal labels…Full Review @ metalreview.com

The music on the EP is well produced, solidly played and most importantly shows a strong natural instinct for writing good music. It won’t be surprising at all that Dark Haven will find success...Full Review @ deadtide.com

Dark Haven is the kind of melodic death metal that is brutally intense, brilliantly realized and explosively dynamic. Guitar chords crash with incendiary fury, vocals scream from a ragged throat, lead riffs peel off like razors on flesh and yet it all comes together with a kind of logical cohesion. It's simply breathtaking and the CD demands to be played again immediately after the fifth track comes to a close. Not only a stunning debut but one of the best metal discs of the year…Full Review @ roughedge.com Note: Top 10 of 2005(R. Scott Bolton)

This southern California band captures the spirit of Dark Tranquillity like no other American act ,but their textures and dimensions go beyond. A patina of sophistication makes all of the band’s songs shine, aided by rich production, varied vocals, kick-ass drumming and keyboard textures. Dark Haven will no doubt be signed very soon.
