The leviathans mandible formed in early 2003 under the name of ,PETA is at the door and im holding a gun to the cats head, when Travis approached some of his friends from another band to do a side project. The original line up was Travis on guitar and vocals and Peabody Falcura on drums. Soon after Drake (The Slayer) Mansfield was recruited to do guitar so Travis could focus on vocals. The project actually didn’t start getting together and writing songs till early 2004, 6 songs were written and soon after PETA... played its first show in Lexington VA. The crowd reacted strongly towards PETA... and soon after they went into studio to write their first album “many items of great wealth and beauty are damaged in this wayâ€. 2 songs were dropped and the band began refocusing their sound, heading for more into a grindcore direction. Last in 2004, Drake left the band and soon after so did Peabody. But instead of just breaking it up, Travis continued on and got a drum machine to write and record beats with. in early 2005, a guitarist was found in josh and with the new lineup and a more solid direction laid out, a name changed was decided and the leviathans mandible was born. also TLM signed with Orginlis Records,a e-grind label based out of richmond virginia. TLM strength is its live show. With Travis all over the place, running around, diving into the crowd, josh slashing his guitar with reckless amibition. While at first ,met with a mixed reaction, almost everyone walks away with something to talk about. TLM Has opened for and played with bands such as everything falls together, analog, flesh and blood robot, closed casket funeral, foreknown, terminally your aborted ghost, ion dissonance, reflux, through the eyes of the dead,circle of dead children and many more.
