Witch-hunt's hard work begun to pay off in early '96 when longtime pals X-Rated Records signed the band and pressed their MCD Prophecies of a Great Plague which was released summer of '96 and showed a more aggressive and distinctive side of the band. After Sayenga's completion of a US tour on drums with Dying Fetus in mid '97, Guitarist/Vocalist Brian Straight decided to leave the band to pursue his career. This left Witch-hunt with only Sayenga and Newton to fill that slot. Erik took over Guitar and Vocals as well as the Drums, and Seth proceeded to conquer Guitar, Bass, and keyboards. This resulted in the recording of 10 new songs entitled Souls Enshrouded Fire. Souls Enshrouded Fire proves to be the most majestically powerful Witch-Hunt ever, conquering all their early efforts.
