Eluveitie clearly belongs to the fast growing Pagan Metal-scene, anyhow brings some "fresh air" into it: Eluveitie's sound is traditional, authentic celtic Folk Music combined in a unique way with modern styled Melodic Death Metal, strongly influenced by the classic Goethenburg Sound. From the land of Helvetia they bring you a feast of mercilessly wild Celtic dancing. Eluveitie. Formed in 2003 the band decided to play rough straight from the heart metal, mixed with mystical, primordial Celtic folk-music. In some of the lyrics Helvetic Gaulish is used, a more or less forgotten language, originally spoken by the ancient celtic clan of the Helvetians. Also Eluveitie is a Gaulish name and means 'I am the Helvetian'. Not only the traditional lyrics, but also the use of many different traditional instruments "With a powerful and thunderous impact, often shining brightly in traditional timbres, these rakish Helvetians illuminate their intelligent and artful compositions.
