Turning Point" was released in the winter of 1998-1999, and was nothing more than "a spiteful nail in the coffin" for Dayton's Hell Mary. The band was undergoing severe hardships (loss of drummer Keith Auckerman Jr., numerous drummer auditions and undeniable directional/creative differences), and the situation soon grew intolerable.

The tracks I put down on this "demo" C.D. (and I'm stressing the word "demo") were literally thrown together in a blinding haste from assorted solo materail I was working on. To this day, this release was never meant to be taken seriously, and merely served as a "cornerstone of contamination" as I like to refer to it. -S.May
