"This an incredibly consistent slab of proto punk-metal. It turns out that these fire-starting, booze-swilling, dress-wearing nitwits might actually matter!"
-John O'Neill/ SF BAY GUARDIAN February 2002
The same well-refined mayhem takes an even darker turn on "Taste The Walker." The fresh face of Grannihilator (g,v), Nasty Old Bag (d,v) and Dusty Titties (b,v) reduce the sharp edge from their previous effort and find the band keeping the metal and dropping much of their garage production.
This time around they use a couple covers, GBH's "Race Against Time" and Husker Du's "Never Talking To You Again" to fill in the gaps. Amid the tangled noise of "Face Down" and "Rolling Blackouts" their humor unfolds in "Mad Cow Disease", "Pink Boots" and "Taste The Walker" - the disc's title track. Personal favorites "Razorblade" and "Alpenglow" capitalize on a Southern boogie edge fully amped and ready for the races. The stripped-down acoustic "Haunted" is the biggest surprise here. Rusty, crusty and raw, the tune strikes a chord of sentimentality. Is that possible? Evidently their live "fire" shows have become somewhat legendary. - http://www.thecutting-edge.net
