The Sun sets, vainly fighting to the last illuminating ray of light to dominate the landscape. However, the age old battle ends the same way as always... The Night takes over and sweet darkness covers the land. Once again the creatures of the night emerge from thier lairs and roam the land during these precious hours given to them by the victorious night.
And as every night that has come before... each soul that lives for and thrives in the shadows and the darkness, prays in it's own way that perhaps, some time in the future... the dawn will never come.

Requiem is the second CD by the band Gothic Blues.

The question you ask is... What is Gothic Blues?

Well, It's what you get when you take 70's Heavy Metal, throw in some Electric Blues and give it all a Medieval vibe, Stir all of this in a mind infected with a touch of Insanity and let it ferment in a soul that is Dark and Hungers for Knowledge-Forbidden.

Or ... you can look at our influences ... Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie / White Zombie, W.A.S.P., John Lennon, Richie Sambora and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Now that will give you an idea of what to expect ... but of course there is more to it than what you can see or hear.

The music of GOTHIC BLUES isn't for everyone it is dark and soothing and yet at times very powerful, but always very melodic. It is a finely tuned mixture of Blues and Heavy Metal with a Medieval feel. ... Those who enjoy only "formula rock" and "standard pop music" will become confused and feel hopelessly left out, so be it, if you are into, Loops, Samples, Covers of songs, If you are influenced by Mtv and treat it as your radio, If you just adore every boy/girl band or teenybopper singer you've ever heard, if you listen to Gospel or Big Band then this isn't the band for you ... and it would be wise if you get outta my face and look elsewhere.

I refuse to lower the bar so that they might be able to "get it", I would prefer that they leave and seek the protection of thier loving parents, or someone else who cares ... I am not worried about the sheep who live in societies bright light ... they can stay in that safety zone provided by local radio stations, continue to live thier lives as mindless pawns of the record companies and be led by thier friends who tell them what to watch, what to wear, who to associate with and what is cool.

GOTHIC BLUES is and will always be guitar driven music.Corporate produced cd's will traditionally have songs that will include all instruments. One can easily expect to hear 2 guitars, a bass, drums and vocals on each and every song ... but, Gothic Blues is not a traditional band, what each song needs determines what is used ... one song may be just 2 guitars, another may have 3 guitars, a bass, drums, vocals and keyboards. Not every song will have lyrics, over half are instrumentals and the songs that do have lyrics are not always sung. Not all songs have the "manditory" solo, some however have several solos

This music is not based on a formula, created by corporate executives and lawyers. No behind-the-scene figures poured over every word, note and idea with the goal of a top ten hit, or the of selling of millions of discs. This is music created in the purest sense... music a "dark" soul.

The sound of GOTHIC BLUES is...GOTHIC BLUES.

With the beginning of the recording of the second album, a new member has been added. This new member is "Spooky", she acts as Creative Consultant, as well as, doing some lyrical and vocal work,
