Not since the nostalgic days of Nat King Cole has there been an exciting African-American male vocalist that has embarked upon a cross-cultural endeavor with so much charisma. Timoteo, originally of Dallas Texas, now based in Long Beach, California, sings in Spanish with immense passion and conviction. The public at large has enthusiastically accepted his innovative combination of music. His music is an eclectic fusion of the traditional ranchera style music unique to Mexico, yet with subtle embellishments of his African-American experience as evidenced in his most recent CD recording titled “Me Regalo Contigo.”

Recently Timoteo was featured on ‘Sin Fronteras’ an international TV show on the Telemundo network. He served as the Master of Ceremonies for the 5th Annual Denver Colorado Mariachi Festival in 2005. Also, Timoteo has appeared on ‘Don Francisco Presenta’, Sabado Gigante’, ‘EscandaloTV de Noche’, ‘American Latino TV’, ‘Latin Nation’ and many others. American television too has shown interest in the uniqueness of his talent. Major television networks such as CBS, KTLA, ABC, KCAL and FoxNews, have mentioned Timoteo and shown him singing in their news segments. There have been written about Timoteo in major newspapers and magazines including The Los Angeles Times, People En Espanol, La Opinion, Teleguia USA, The Sacramento Bee, and the list goes on.

Timoteo’s consistent presence over the last ten years is definitely helping him to make his way into the hearts of his most loyal fans in Mexico, South America, Central America, and of course, the Unites States. By virtue of shows like ‘It’s Showtime At The Apollo’, ‘BET Live’, Fiesta Broadway, and Fiesta de Octubre in Guadalajara, Mexico; Timoteo is recognized figure for those who are lovers of mariachi music. After seeing Timoteo perform at a Mexican Independence Day celebration, former Mayor of Los Angeles, California, Richard Riordan, commissioned him to be the Grand Marshall of the 2000 Millennium celebration for the Latin community of Los Angeles. In March of 2002 he was the featured entertainer for the 2002 Miss Long Beach/Miss Teen Long Beach Beauty Pageant.

Having shared the stage with such greats as Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, Jose Feliciano, Trio Los Panchos, and Lorenzo de Monteclaro certainly puts him on track to becoming one of the most renowned international artists in history. His mission is to bring together people of all ethnicities and form ‘One people.’ The ‘One People’ he visions is a world without color barriers or conditions based on one’s nationality. Timoteo will continue to work for love, peace, and happiness worldwide through harmonious melodies that soothe the soul.
