Bill Sleeter grew up in St. Louis where his early musical influences included Big Band and 1950's and 1960's rock and roll.

He had an ear for music, and also studied music privately and in college.

While majoring in Theatre at Virginia Commonwealth University, he began performing as a pianist in clubs and restaurants in Richmond, VA.

Those performances let to an eight year piano engagement at a hotel in Arlington, VA, near Washington, DC.

There, Bill formed a band called VARIETY and recorded two albums, one of cover songs, one of original music.

His albums sold so well, he decided to move to a major music center to pursue performing and writing music full time.

Since arriving in Nashville in 1982, Bill has written songs for other artists, formed a pop band, country band, Western Swing band and finally his current band that features Ballroom and Big Band music.
