NOTES:
The energy level is rising up with the exotic, captivating innocence and naiveté of Andrea Lafert. Listening to the natural voice, powerful rhythms, and poetic lyrics of this beautiful Latin pop-rock artist from Argentina, will definitely cheer you up. With a hopefulness and purity that is rare in these confused times, Andrea's songs like "Lo que importa es tu corazón", "Make it happen", and “La vida que se va” are committed to viewing our world in a truly clear way. In her new album, her own production, Novena Conciencia (Ninth Consciousness), she sings with a passion and urgency that forces you to take notice. Her repertoire includes the emotionally touching soft rock love ballads "Memorias de Suitcase"( breath taking...), "Quisiera" and "Cuando pienso en ti", as well as the fun-upbeat,dance pop tunes "A donde va el amor", "Entrégate", and "Dame una señal". Such variety speaks to the creativity of this vulnerable, down-to-earth artist. Beatle-esque Guitar chords matched with a passion reminiscent of Queen's Brian May blend with powerful drums, colorful harmonys, and the occasional lighthearted chords of an accordion that points back to the artist's Argentinean folk music roots. Part French, Russian, Italian, and Spanish, Andrea is an explosion of influences and sings with a sincerity that is touching and poignant....very hot! Listen to Andrea’s music and experience a magic ride that lets you discover the unique being that lies within yourself.

BIO:
Born and raised in Cordoba, Argentina, Andrea is the only daughter and youngest of four. She discovered her passion for music at the early age of six and enrolled in a classic and folk guitar academy where she graduated at the age of thirteen. At the age of nine, Andrea participated in a children’s contest and won first prize, a chance to sing at a famous local radio station in a weekly children’s show called ”the world of chocolate”. The show was performed live every Sunday and “Andreita”, became an overnight sensation. She continued to sing every Sunday for the next seven years. Each week she would write, rehearse, and play her songs on the radio show and in local children’s theatres, developing a loyal following of children and adults in her home city.

Having three older brothers who also played and sang, Andrea listened to mostly, contemporary rock and pop. As she grew into a very attractive young woman, she started a career as a runway and commercial model in Argentina’s fast-paced fashion market. Staying true to her first passion, she continued to write songs and express herself musically and became a familiar voice to the people in her native home town, singing on commercials for radio and TV. She was the voice of a commercial presidential campaign in her country and played regularly before large audiences of 3000 to 5000 people between thirteen to sixteen years of age for the governor in her city.

Invited as the Cordoba representative to join a troupe of Argentinean artists for a cultural exchange between Argentina and Cuba during the Latin American film festival in Havana, Andrea received a musicology award from that country. More importantly, she saw, first hand, how people with very little except their music and their dreams, lived full and happy lives. Andrea performed at the first “Youth World Peace Musical Festival” in the city of Buenos Aires, before an audience of 28 thousand people at the famous Luna park stadium where she received a standing ovation. She continued to perform on local and national TV shows, showcases, and festivals before live audiences which earned her the prestigious nomination of “singer of the year” in her home city.

A few years ago, Andrea decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her musical career. In her first performance, she sang and acted as the Virgin Mary at Ricardo Montalban’s Nosotros Theater in Hollywood in a pastoral Christmas play. Since then, she’s performed on multiple cable television broadcasts as an actress and a singer. Andrea has also supported her community performing in support of anti-drug abuse, HIV prevention, children’s benefits, and care for the elderly and infirm. She was seen on Univision’s nationally televised and popular Latin show, “Sábado Gigante”. She performed with their famous regular comedy cast, live at the Palladium in Hollywood, before an audience of 8000 people per show. She has been seen on different TV commercials and was featured as a model/actress in various American TV shows including “Beverly Hills 90210”, "the new love boat" and “California Dreaming”.

Throughout 2001, Andrea’s modeling could be seen in back stage magazine, and, in 2002, she posed in the New Yorker magazine. Lately, she’s been performing in the LA scene in different American and Latin bands. She has been recording many demo projects and playing with her band in various festivals and events. Andrea’s primary interest is to grow each day and create music that brings out the best in people. She is now presenting her first solo album, also produced by her “Novena Conciencia”, a transparent expression of her unique life expierence, true emotions in a mixture of rhythms and melodies that are suffused with a contagious joy for life. Her messages, are inspired by playfulness, naiveté, love, disappointment, injustice, and ultimately hope.
