Tropicoso is an ensemble that has been a cornerstone of the latin dance scene in southwest Ohio for the last six years. The band started by exploring traditional folk music from the Caribbean, and expanded their repertoire into Latin pop, Salsa, Merengue and Latin Jazz hits at the request of dancers and band members alike. The band also grew over time from an original core of five musicians to its present nine-member form. Their own creative output reflects this diversity inspired by both external and internal influences. The band has won several local awards for their efforts and has had the privilege to open up for El Gran Combo, Puerto Rican Power and Victor Manuelle among others. Tropicoso is Carmen Velez on vocals and percussion, Chris Velez on percussion, Nick Radina on percussion and cuatro, Charlie Schweitzer on percussion, John Zappa on trumpet, Garin Webb on saxophone, Bill Gwynne on trombone, Bill Jackson on bass and Larry Feldner on piano. Additional vocal work is also provided by all of the above mentioned. Check out the artist's website: http://www.tropicosomusic.com Track List: 1. Que Negro Mas Feo 2. No Acepto Que Te Vas 3.
