New CD release: "SAUDADES"

"BB King Meets Santana!"

Brazilian guitarist Alan Marcus and his new Band release new CD, recorded at Slaughterhouse Studios, USA.
All five tracks in "SAUDADES" were written by Alan Marcus (last track he shares credit with band-mates). This CD is best described as a combination of the blues, 1970's rock and Brazilian bossa-nova.

The title-track "Saudades" is an instrumental song that Alan wrote inspired by the Brazilian/Portuguese word itself, which is untranslatable into any language, but essentially means: "longing, missing, reminisce...". Alan also invited ex-Warner Bros. recording artist Robin Lane (Robin Lane and the Chartbusters) to sing as a guest on one of his compositions : "It's Alright".

The Alan Marcus Band, have been playing in New England at local venues, in Boston, colleges and music festivals. Most recently on the same bill as Little Feat and opening for Steve Riley and Chris Ardoin, at the Green River Music Festival (MA).

Alan Marcus' CD's have won several local awards: Top Ten
Best Local CD of the year 2000 and 2001, by Sheryl Hunter
of The Recorder, MA, and the Live Wire Awards, by Donnie
Moorehouse of The Union News, Springfield, MA, which is
given to the top 10 best local bands in the Pioneer Valley.
CD's have been sold and played in radio stations in Brazil,
