For over twenty years, Fernando Osorio has excelled as an accomplished songwriter, portraying life stories that inspire and speak to everyone. His first hit came early in his career when he wrote "Solo con un Beso", interpreted by Ricardo Montaner. Since then, many of his songs have been featured and interpreted by some of Latin music's most influential artists, including the late Celia Cruz for whom he wrote two of her biggest hits of the late 90's and early 2000: "La Negra Tiene Tumbao" and "Ríe y Llora".

Born in Colombia, his parents left to Venezuela when he was just a child. This is when he discovered his love for music, when he had the chance to study at the prestigious Emil Friedman School, renowned for its music program.

Even though he tried to become a traditionalist by going to college and studying Marketing and Finances, he learned that his true passion was in music. It was then that he decided he would make a career out of it. He continued writing and soon partnered with longtime friend Juan Carlos Perez-Soto to create the duo Fernando y Juan Carlos. In a short period of time, the duo became a hit in their native Venezuela, where they recorded two full length records.

By the late 1990's, Fernando made the leap to the US as part of the Warner-Chapell Publishing team.

During this period, he wrote songs for many of Latin music's top acts, including Marc Anthony, Huey Dunbar, Jerry Rivera, Frankie Negron, amongst others. However, Fernando never let go of his dream of recording an album by himself. Under WEA Latina, in early 2000, he recorded Con palabras, produced by Emanuele Ruffinengo. With this work, came his first Grammy Nomination.

He also meets Sergio George, and together create two of the most popular songs recorded by Celia Cruz: La Negra Tiene Tumbao (which earns various Grammy Nominations, including Best Song) and Rie y Llora (for which he earned a Grammy Latino for Best Song).

Nowadays, Fernando Osorio is submerged in the promotion of his album; DEBE SER, which was released by ReSPek Records this past June. The album is a true reflection of Fernando's innermost thoughts, presenting his songs as a they are, naked, pure and simple, accompanied only by his guitar and passionate voice.
