Listening to a lullaby gives one an opportunity to escape into a peaceful thought that transcends into deep, restful sleep. Lullabies have always been favorites for me because they symbolize an innocence that is hard to find in the waking hours. Children and adults alike can enjoy the simplicity. Three years ago, while sharing tea with my dear friend, Katy Stokes, I bashfully presented this sketchy idea of a lullaby CD. Katy's eyes brightened as she said, "Go talk to Kurt!" It took a little prodding, but I finally went to Kurt Kaiser and performed a few of my original lullabies. He immediately started bouncing ideas around and before I knew it, we were off and running . . . well, that is until everything was put on hold when I found out I was pregnant! The beautiful result is the sweet face you see on the cover of the CD: Tristan Lynn. I hadn't thought about the album in many months, but as I started to sing these sleep-songs to my son, every word and every note had new meaning. I wasn't just singing because I enjoyed the music. My voice had a purpose as I poured all my love into the lyrics and covered my infant with the music. New inspiration struck; I returned to Kurt and we began making preparations for recording. All the musicians on the album live and work in Waco, Texas, except my mom and dad. Many of them are teachers and professors of music. I'm proud of the fact we used local talent to create this work. Creating music with friends and loved ones makes the experience so special. Check out the artist's website: http://www.carrianne.net Track List: 1. Baby's Boat 2. Cradle Hymn 3. Don't Forget 4.
