Journey with us back to a time when the Earth was young in a (now) 2 part Rock Opera audio story to Gothic lands and pilgrimages, Pirates, Villains, heroes, Romance, Comedy and lots of adventure. Featuring Artists: Brent Lewis, Josh Kramer and Saint, Songs of Deep forest 3, Kenny Chesney, Brian Adams, Ravi Shankar, Phillip Glass, and more. There is not much we know about Nick. His relics have been pilfered. Stolen, hidden, stolen again, supposedly shipped to America (Rumor), wowed over, then shipped back to Bari Italy, where they are to this day. A few of his bones are said to still be in Turkey. Who can accurately say what life was like for a rich, handsome, young prince and chose to live a life of abstinence for some reason? The celibcey thing didn't start happening until several hunderd years ago. What his personal reasons were, no one can say. I took creative liberty and gave Nick a life. The storyline contributers, actors and actresses became heart and soul of this production. Nicolas was one of the most venerated, coolest and most popular of Saint's on that part of the globe at that very tumultuous time, when the earth was young and very violent. Here's what we do know about Nick.. He was an only child born into an aristocratic family. Unbelievably Rich. Most likely betrothed from birth. A catch for every girl within reach. Probably good looking and even if he wasn't, I would imagine his money was. He was kind hearted and Caring. He was hard working, Dedicated, Honest, and he went the extra mile. He was known as "the wonder worker". He was most famous for coming to the aid of the falsly accused. He was orphaned at some time in his teens, moved in with his uncle and Abbot, of whom no one is really sure what his name was. A popular belief is that it was Nicolas also. He became a priest, ordained as Bishop of Myra in the run down province Diocese of Palmyra in a most peculiar way. He did a few miracles, supposedly slapped Arius at the Counsel of Nicaea for blasphemy, yelled at him, and got defrocked for it. He was reinstated later. He rescued slaves, was tortured for his faith, saved mariners lost at sea, loved the ocean, and showed up in Technicolor in Constantine's dream. The golden miracle dowery gifts happened. Details are diverse . The Brine tub scenario happened(He rescued 3 pickled youths in a brine tub left for dead) . Nick went to bat for unjustly imprisoned officers, and bailed them out. Turned a few tables. Crashed pagan ritual parties, literally. He was a Priest with an attitude! There has never been found any of his wealth, journals of him or his family of any kind. How come? Why? Well his Journals and family records were most likely destroyed somehow. As for his wealth, he gave it all away and I have a reason to believe it was over a period of time. Not all at once as we've been led to believe. He was a wise man who I'm sure knew the value of good stewardship. He must've realized that money is power and when used for good reasons, has positive influence. He was very well known for buying slaves and then setting them free. As for the flying Reigndeer, that was a different time and place and not at all the same lad. There are supposed names of his parents but nothing absolute is certain. There was never any record of his Grand Parents so I gave him a really cool Grandma and Grandpa. Every one has a best friend growing up so I gave him some pals. In Nov. 2000 this story started out as a dream I had and described in war stories track #6 part 1. My dream had to have been influenced by the movie 1st. Knight and way too much Chinese take out that night. My dream fueled my obsession to know more about Nick for almost a year that started out as a journal which became a book, a script for a screen play for a movie that has not yet materialized except in my mind, then finally an audio book. Before my dream happened, I hated Christmas. I then embarked on a quest trying to find out the origin and reality of Santa Clause. In part 2, a very unsettling view of where the red suit and floppy cap outfit is said to have originated, (Not from the Coca Cola company either. Way beyond that). I think it will give you a new appreciation. It has for me any way. A year or so later my book became an audio play and many of us began distributing it as a demo to promote some of us for voice over and acting gigs. Now it's finally available to the public. We sincerely hope you enjoy our play. Thanx for listening and using an endangered species ...our imagination. Howie and the Dream Team.
