The song, "The Game," was originally written solely as a poem. As I do with all of my poems, I copyright them with the Library of Congress. Through the years I have written several poems; and you can check me out at: http://www.poets.com/R.DavidFordham.html On a particular day in the past, I received a letter from a musical group inquiring if I ever thought about putting music to my poems. Frankly, I never thought about it and kind of put them off. The group out of California called themselves Hilltop Records, and their studio was in Hollywood. After some letters back and forth, I was talked into letting them put an arrangement to my poem, "The Game." I instructed them I wanted the song arrangement in the style of an old baseball song that one might hear at a baseball stadium or park. Using their studio singer, Donald James, we contracted for a final arrangement where I would own all rights in the final song. Thus, "The Game" was born. As a lover of baseball I was quite proud of the song. Through the efforts of Disc Makers the song was re-recorded from cassette to CD and is now available solely through CD Baby. R. David Fordham P.S. Remember . . . a poem is a song without music! Check out the artist's website: http://www.poets.com/R.DavidFordham.html Track List: 1.
