Lika is a Maui based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and independent recording artist who owns and operates his own didgital recording studio and has written over 2,000 songs and recorded 19 albums that are available on CD. Musical styles include children's, country, gospel, rock, reggae, folk, blues, and light jazz. Lika is the father of 8 children and 13 grandchildren and this children's CD, was inspired by them. The songs on "Mommy, There's A Hippopotamus In My Bed" are short, simple and all about the things that are interesting to young children. These songs are performed mostly on acoustic guitar, with percussion instruments, cool sound effects and of course lead vocals. There is also bass and keyboards on a few tracks. The songs are designed and arranged in a way that allows children to immediately start dancing to the rhythm and singing along. The songs on this CD are clean, wholesome, positive, and just plain fun for the whole family. The cover design and graphics were created by Lika's wife Toni and the little girl on the cover is Lika's grandaughter Victoria on the bed with Hippy.
